Clonus | (klo`nus) is repetitive involuntary movement of the toe, ankle, or wrist and is caused by quickly stretching the muscle. For example, if you bend the ankle quickly and hold the foot up, clonus looks like the individual is tapping their foot. The person is unable to control this movement. | Back to Listing |
